2014 is here, and with it comes my resolution to read more books. Yes, even more! How else will I reach my goal of a million? The way the publishing industry works, most releases for 2014 books are already scheduled. This is a list of some of the most awaited books of 2014 from popular authors.
It will be fun to see how many of these make it to the top 100 or get on the NYT bestseller list.
Ken Follett regaled me in the 90’s with Eye of the Needle. Author of the epic Pillars of the Earth, he brings us Edge of Eternity, the third book in his Century trilogy in September 2014. Impeccably researched and action packed, I have no doubt this will be a big one.
James Patterson is immensely popular and always has at least one book in the top 100. Unlucky 13 is the latest edition in his Women’s Murder Club series, and promises to be a fast paced thriller. This book is slated to hit the stands in March.
J.R. Ward is back with some paranormal thrills in April. The King is the next edition in the popular Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Fantasy fans are in for a treat with this one.
Mary Higgins Clark is a master when it comes to suspense. Goosebumps are a free gift as you follow Clark’s heroine try to solve a cold case to catch a killer in April 2014.
Isaac Bell is back in March 2014. The Van Horn Detective is all set to capture our hearts again with The Bootlegger. I have loved the Wrecker and the Thief. And am eagerly waiting for The Bootlegger.
Stephen King seems to be on a roll. After bringing us Doctor Sleep earlier this year, get ready to be scared again in June with this spine chilling new thriller.
Enter a whole new fantasy world created by David Baldacci for youngsters. No one has ever left the village of Wormwood. Until Quentin Hermes vanishes into thin air.
Evanovich and Goldberg brought us The Heist earlier this year. And they are back with The Chase in February 2014. A con man and a FBI agent team up to recover some important government secrets. As a fan of Ms. Evanovich, I am certainly looking forward to this one.
Jeffrey Archer is arguably my favorite author, and he’s back with Number 4 in the Clifton Chronicles. Number 1 in this series redeemed my faith, Number 2 was somewhat forgettable, Number 3 went down a well trodden path, and come March, I will find out what Number 4 has in store for us.
Danielle Steel has delivered books like The Promise, Daddy, Wings, Vanished and many more, and caused us to shed some tears for her distressed heroines. I am eager to read this upcoming saga in March, which promises to blend drama, passion, family, ambition, love – some of the themes Steel is an expert at working with.
What can I say about Stephanie Plum? After being a bit disappointed with Number 19, I am yet to read Number 20. But I have no doubt Top Secret Twenty One will reach the top seller lists pretty soon once it is released in June 2014.
Many of these books are available on pre-order at Amazon.com. Which of these are you looking forward to reading most? Which book has made it to your list of Most Awaited 2014 books?
