Meg Langslow is back! I introduced this blacksmith moonlighting as sleuth in Murder with Peacocks. We fast forward a bit where Meg has married drama professor Michael and the stork is visiting. Stork Raving Mad has a pregnant Meg with a house bursting at the seams with impromptu guests, not to mention an unexpected murder.
The drama department at Caerphilly College has long been the step child of the English department. Meg’s house is overflowing with refugee students – dozens of them – because the heating plant at the college has gone bust. A geriatric Spanish playwright is guest of honor at the play of the Season. Until the Dean threatens to shut it all down because of missing paperwork. Outraged students are planning all sorts of rebellion when the Dean is found dead in Meg’s library.
With her babies due any time, Meg is looking for a place to nap but keeps running into clues. Doctor Langslow, mother, grandfather, Skip, Rose Noire, Horace, Chief Burke etc. are supplemented by the many students and Rob’s interns. It is chaos as usual in Meg’s life as she awaits the arrival of her babies.
Stork Raving Mad is a treat for Meg Langslow fans. If this is the first time you’re picking up a Meg Langslow book, you might feel a bit lost with all the characters. Who are Humpty-Dumpty, Butch-Sundance, Hansel-Gretel, Tom-Jerry etc.? Grab a copy now to find out.
